What is a Doula?

A doula is a trained professional who champions a birthing person throughout pregnancy, birth, and the fourth trimester.

A doula highlights your inherent power, confidence, and intuition so you step into parenting with ease.

How does a doula do this?

By providing:

  • Answers to your most pressing questions, for example:

    • How can I prepare for giving birth?

    • What are my pain relief options for labor?

    • Will my breast size matter when it comes to breastfeeding (hint --> nope!)

    • If I have a cesarean birth, how can I have a positive experience?

  • Resources:

    • doctors

    • yoga classes

    • group prenatal fitness classes

    • psychologists & life coaches

    • physical therapists

    • places to buy baby gear

  • Emotional Support:

    • A doula responds empathetically and with compassion to your every emotion. It's like chatting with a close friend, but knowing that close friend has professional experience with all things birth and will never judge you.

  • Book Recommendations and a lending library of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum books
